My Story
Since the beginning of civilization, throughout all strata of cultures, jewelry has been an integral part of day-to-day life. Born and raised in Surat, India, I was introduced to art and architecture at an early age through my parents' love for travel and appreciation for art. My journey as a jeweler began when I joined the Academy of Art University in 2001, where I learned various jewelry-making techniques.
I express myself through a fusion of ethnic and contemporary jewelry, drawing inspiration from historical motifs and forms found in Indian art and architecture.
As I continue to be intrigued by the intricate shapes and forms of Indian architecture and my appreciation for archaic jewelry-making techniques, I passionately combine these two elements to create hand-wrought, one-of-a-kind, bespoke wearable art. Every element of jewelry–from chains, hinges, and clasps–is crafted by hand using classical jewelry-making techniques like granulation, filigree, and chain making, combined with forms and colors from architecture.
